When you genuinely believe Jesus is God's Messiah, you've been born from God—and here's the thing: if you truly love God, you'll naturally love everyone else who belongs to Him too.
John is writing to early Christians who were being tested by false teachers denying Jesus's identity. He's establishing that real faith produces real love—not just toward God, but toward the whole family of believers. This was crucial when the church faced pressure from both inside and outside.
