This is a critical observation. Some people rationalize their sin; these people have given themselves over to enjoying it. They find pleasure in 'twistedness'—in the warping of what's right. Understanding this helps a young man see that some dangers aren't just temptations he faces; they're people who've made themselves enemies of what's good.

Romans 1 describes a similar progression—people exchanging truth for lies, and ultimately, their hearts becoming darkened and their desires twisted. Without wisdom, this can happen to anyone.

The phrase 'enjoy doing evil' (שׂמְחִים לַעֲשׂוֹת רָע, smeachim laasot ra) and 'rejoice in the twistedness' (יָגִילוּ בִּתַהְפֻּכוֹת עָוֶל, yagilu bitahpuchot avel) portray evil not as a lapse but as a preferred orientation. The combination of emotional satisfaction ('rejoice') with intellectual distortion ('twistedness') reveals a comprehensive moral inversion wherein the wicked have reoriented their entire being toward vice. This represents what Aquinas termed 'perverse pleasure'—the gravest form of moral corruption.
