The scholar's commentary

When arrested, they should not worry (merimnao, the same anxiety verb from 6:25) about how or what to speak, for the right words will be given in that hour.

Language and setting

The connection to the Sermon's anxiety teaching (6:25-34) is deliberate: the same trust in God's provision for daily needs extends to provision for persecution.
