Jesus says it will be exactly the same when the Son of Man is revealed. Sudden. Unmistakable. And for the unprepared, devastating.

Jesus applies both parallels: 'it will be just like that' (kata ta auta estai) on the day the Son of Man 'is revealed' (apokalyptetai). The verb 'revealed' (apokalyptō) suggests the parousia as an unveiling of what is presently hidden.
The application draws the two historical events into a single eschatological warning: the Son of Man's coming will follow the same pattern of sudden, unexpected divine intervention.
Jesus directly connects the Noah and Lot narratives to His own return, making the ancient warnings contemporary and urgent.
Jesus declares: the day I am revealed will follow the same pattern as Noah's flood and Sodom's destruction — sudden, decisive, and inescapable.
28It was the same in the days of Lot: People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.
29But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30It will be just like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
31On that day, let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve his possessions. Likewise, let no one in the field return for anything he has left behind.
32Remember Lot’s wife!
