Jesus calmly responds, 'I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which one are you going to stone Me?'
Even facing death, Jesus doesn't panic. He turns the situation into a teaching moment, forcing them to confront the absurdity of punishing someone for doing good.
Jesus stands His ground and challenges the crowd to justify their hostility in light of His good works.
Surrounded by men holding stones, Jesus asks the most disarming question: 'Which miracle are you killing Me for?' It's courageous and devastatingly logical.
Jesus responds with calm authority, pointing to His 'many noble works' (polla kala erga) from the Father, and asks which specific work warrants stoning—forcing them to confront the evidence.
The adjective 'kalos' (noble/beautiful) matches the 'kalos' of the good shepherd (v.11), connecting Jesus' works to His character. His question exposes the irrationality of stoning someone for doing good.
Jesus confronts His would-be executioners with the irrefutable evidence of His beneficial works.
Rather than fleeing, Jesus stands His ground and challenges the crowd's logic: if His works are manifestly good and from God, on what rational basis can they justify killing Him?

33“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, make Yourself out to be God.”
